Aldila is an Italian word meaning ‘far beyond’ and to this day, we pour that spirit into everything we do. Our meticulously constructed, timeless, graphite golf shafts are as loved by passionate amateurs as they are by the world’s greatest professional golfers.
Established in San Diego in 1972, Aldila was founded by visionary and master tinkerer Jim Flood - a man who has been described as ‘the Thomas Edison of modern golf’. Inspired by the graphite composite wings of the F-111 fighter plane, the Aldila team invented the carbon fiber golf shaft - strong, flexible and incredibly light - in serious contrast to the heavy steel golf shafts of the day. We have been crafting shafts of ingenuity, distinction and quality ever since.

ASCENT™ Ultralight Hybrid
ASCENT™ Ultralight HybridASCENTTM Ultralight models deliver an easy, high launch angle without the typical compromises of an ultra-lightweight shaft. Featuring Focused Mass Technology (FMTTM), a precise weighting section that utilizes heavier, tungsten-infused prepreg in the butt end to help players turn through the ball better for stronger, straighter/drawn ball flight. ASCENTTM Ultralight models also include FlyDriveTM Technology – a new application inspired by a similar innovation in high-performance fly fishing rods. A full-length Visco-Elastic Isolation Layer (VEIL) is added to improve overall strength and feel while bolstering the shaft’s resistance to “ovaling,” a common deficiency in thinner-walled designs. FlyDriveTM adds very little weight or thick- ness so ASCENTTM Ultralight shafts remain quick and fast with a satisfying, solid feel at impact.
